Screening Can Detect Early Ovarian Cancer Response

I think that screening is not really that helpful, it has caused people to have surgeries that just arent needed. Which could end in a bad way. I think that the screening helps some people, but in other ways, could hurt others.

Screening Can Detect Early Ovarian Cancer

Only about one-quarter of invasive ovarian cancers are detected in the early stages, when the disease is most treatable. Preliminary ersults from a large, continuing trial indicate that postmenopausal women who are screened for ovarian cancer either by transvaginal ultrasound scan or by a blood test, are easily detected at the early stages. Many of the women in the trial had falso positive results on the screening tests and thta led to surgeries that weren't needed that caused complications. especially the ones who had ultrasound scans alone. There is still no evidence that screening reduces the death rate from ovarian cancer.
